About Wellness Desk

Last updated September 3, 2026

Wellness Desk is an editorial site covering the wellness products people actually buy — supplements, skin and shave, and the small number of measurements worth tracking. We read the label, find the studies, and say plainly whether the dose in the bottle matches the dose in the research.

What we cover

Six topics, each with a stated lens:

We go deep rather than wide: within each topic we care most about the ingredient categories where dosing and form decide whether a product does anything at all — L-citrulline versus arginine, KSM-66 versus generic ashwagandha, magnesium glycinate versus oxide.

What we don't do

We have not run hands-on product tests, laboratory assays or clinical trials, and we do not claim to have. Our work is reading ingredient research and comparing it against what is disclosed on a label. Where the evidence for an ingredient is animal-only, in vitro, or a single small trial, we say so on the page rather than in a footnote. We also keep ingredient studies separate from finished-formula outcomes — a study on an ingredient is not a study on the product containing it.

How we evaluate a product

Who owns this site

Wellness Desk is a site created and owned by Shane and Max Company, a Delaware corporation doing business as JOYMODE. The same company owns and sells JOYMODE, one of the brands reviewed on this site. Where a Wellness Desk review covers a JOYMODE product, that ownership is disclosed on the review page itself.

How we make money

Wellness Desk may receive commissions, or be sponsored directly by the manufacturers, for content on our site. That relationship never determines a ranking or a rating — see the affiliate disclosure for the full detail and the editorial policy for how we keep the two separate.

Not medical advice

Wellness Desk publishes consumer research, not medical guidance. Supplements can interact with prescription medication — nitrates and PDE5 inhibitors especially. Talk to a clinician before you start anything.
